Skills for parents

Where parents find their gymnast's skill progress in GymTeamHub and how to read the statuses coaches assign.

For: Parents

Your gymnast's skill progress lives on their profile: open your gymnast (from your dashboard's gymnast card or the Roster) and pick the Skills tab.

What you'll see

Skills organized by apparatus, each with its current status. The statuses are set by the coaching staff and mean the same thing everywhere:

  • Not Started — prerequisites not met or not training it yet
  • Learning — meets prerequisites and has begun training
  • Achieved — can perform the skill independently
  • Mastered — performs it flawlessly every time
  • Injured — can't work on the skill due to injury

Some skills carry a qualifier like with a spot or inconsistent — coaches use these to capture the in-between stages honestly, and they appear in Progress Reports too.

What it's for

The Skills tab answers "how's she progressing?" between conversations with the coach — it's the same data the staff work from at practice, not a separate summary. When a Progress Report arrives, its skills section is a snapshot of this tab over the report's date range.

Note

You only ever see your own gymnast's skills. Other families' progress is never visible to you, and yours isn't visible to them.
