Building a routine

Start a routine in Gym TeamHub, fill in its skills and value letters, pick its competition routine, and save — on the web or in the app.

For: Owners & directors Coaches & staff Parents

A routine is one gymnast's plan for one event: the skills in order, a value letter on each, and what the routine meets. A gymnast can have as many as you like on an event, so a Level 8 planning next season's Level 9 bars keeps both routines.

Start a routine

  1. On the Routines home, choose New routine — or tap a + chip to jump to step 4 for that gymnast and event. Parents start from their gymnast's list, which skips step 2.
  2. Who is it for? — pick the gymnast, or search by name.
  3. Which event?
  4. Start from — pick what the routine is scored with:
    • Recommended · Level 9 leads when Gym TeamHub has a template for the gymnast's level.
    • Routine library lists routines your coaches keep ready, skills filled in (not shown to parents — see The Routine library and copying).
    • Every other scoring template for the event follows. When one is recommended, the rest fold under More templates (3), with their count.
    • No template — type the start value skips the adding up: you type the number.

Nothing is saved until you choose Save routine, and you can change the template later.

Fill it in

The estimate updates as you type — What the numbers mean explains it.

  • Name — a gymnast's first routine on an event is named for it ("Uneven Bars routine"). From the second on, give it a name; two routines on one event can't share one.
  • Skills — choose Add skill, type the skill's name, and pick its value letter. A row's ⋯ moves it, adds a skill below it or a group label, or removes it (with Undo for a few seconds). For vault, choose Add vault and type each vault's start value.
  • The checkbox on a row — where a template limits how many skills of a letter count, check it when the skill is that kind: Acro on beam and floor, Not on list on bars.
  • CV — the CV tag between two skills sets the connection: None, +0.10 or +0.20.
  • Special requirements, Composition credit and a bonus to confirm, like the USAG Women's Level 10 Scorecard bonus — check or pick what the routine meets.

Save, read and edit

Save routine saves and shows the routine as it reads: the number, What's missing, the skills and the rest, with who built it and who edited it last. Edit routine turns the same page back into the form. With nothing changed, Save reads Done; Cancel asks before throwing changes away.

If a save doesn't go through — a missing name, or the gym wifi dropping — your changes stay on screen with what went wrong. Fix it, or wait for a signal, and save again. When two people edit one routine, whichever saves last is what's kept.

The competition routine

One routine per event is the gymnast's competition routine — the one the Routines home shows. Their first routine on an event is it automatically. To choose another, open it and choose Use for competition; the old one stays on their list.

Deleting a routine

Delete routine is at the end of the page you read. It asks first, then gives you a few seconds to undo. Deleting the competition routine passes the job to the most recently edited routine left on that event, and the dialog names it.

Parents

You can do all of this on your own gymnast's routines, if your gym lets families use Routines. Their coach usually builds these, so check with the coach before changing one of theirs. See Routines for parents.
